GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR THE PROVISION OF LAUNDRY AND DRY CLEANING SERVICES

1. 5àsec shops use methods developed by "5àsec", providing en express quality service, from years of practice and hundreds of shops open to the general public in Portugal and 30 more countries.
2. The fees for the services, paid by the costumer when accepting the service or when recovering the articles, are the ones within the price-lists presented in the shops, not considering any special promotion that may apply. All services are payable in cash on deposit or recover time.
3. When accepting the service by paying its price, an invoice will be given to the costumer, that confirms the payment, along with a resume of these general conditions. Also, when required, a document describing reserves for the cleaning service will be given.
4. The articles restitution is done by 5àsec only to whom presents the invoice, proving for the service payment, and all the attached documents.
5. 5àsec shops will perform their best to clean/wash, within the deadline given and presented in the proving document, the article deposited by the costumer, assuring the article original colour, texture and size. 5àsec shops and the costumer may come to an written agreement for reserves to these obligations.
6. 5àsec shops will assure, when cleaning/washing the article, that the cleaning instructions present in the article are respected. If the costumer wishes a cleaning process that does not follow the instructions present on the article, it is he's duty to inform the 5àsec shop.
7. 5àsec shops will perform an examination before accepting the service, to assess the best cleaning method, but also to detect any anomalies or specificity. In case of any reserve, 5àsec will ask the costumer's permission to include them in the proving document. If after the examination and before the selected cleaning an anomaly is detected, the 5àsec shop may decide not to proceed with any cleaning process.
8. Fur, curtains, carpets and quilts are articles that normally don't have cleaning instructions, increasing the probability of changes in the colour, texture or size. Therefore, these articles will only be accepted under reservations.
9. Also only included with reservations are articles that have buttons and other appliques that may lose their shine, discolour, melt, deform, unstick or loss by broken threads.
10. It's up to the customer to ensure that no object is left forgotten within the articles deposited, 5àsec shop is not responsible for these objects damage or loss.
11. Due to material limitations (fabrics, furs or synthetic fibbers) sometimes not detected on the examination, 5àsec shop may not be able to assure that, after the best cleaning process, the article retains its original colour, texture and dimension properties, furthermore, not all stains can be removed from the articles.
12. 5àsec shop will always repeat the cleaning process, if it is understood that the article is not well cleaned, during the restitution, without any additional fees.
13. Except by proofing bad faith or severe fault, the maximum responsibility assigned to the 5àsec shop by default or neglected cleaning/washing service required by the costumer, is the full restitution of the amount paid by the costumer for that service or, in case of loss or irreparable damage, the commercial value of the article at the time it was deposited in the shop.
14. The commercial value of an article, for refund purposes, is calculated according with the best practices of the cleaning/washing service providing activity, considering the average initial cost of the article, its average durability, its devaluation over time and the cost replacing it, according to the amount present in these conditions (except if a purchase proof is presented) and a reduction according to its antique:
- 20% for an article purchased up to 3 months;
- 40% for an article purchased between 3 and 30 months;
- 70% for a much older article, except if relevant reservations were considered on deposit
Only single articles deposited at 5àsec shop will be considered for value calculation, excluding any ensemble that the article may be part off, except if both articles are given simultaneously for cleaning/washing.
15. In any case, the 5àsec shop is responsible for any patrimonial or non-patrimonial damage that exceeds the article commercial value at the time it was deposited by the costumer, except if that liability was communicated by the costumer when depositing, allowing the 5àsec shop to deliberate on refusing or accepting with reservations.
16. All claims must be presented when/during recovering the articles, having the costumer the obligation of examine its articles and, in case of any anomaly, fill with the 5àsec shop a a claim sheet. It is a 5àsec shop decision to accept claims after the articles recovering.
17. The hangers and plastic used by the 5àsec shop tries to assure a protection of the articles only when they are transported, for it is recommended that they are removed/replaced when stored. Not doing so may result on damages in the articles, in witch the costumer is fully responsible.
18. The articles deposited must be reclaimed within 90 (ninety) days starting from the date present in the proofing document. After that deadline, the articles will be sent to a warehouse and their restitution is only possible by paying the storage fee, 1€ per day (one euro). After 180 (one hundred and eighty) days without any reclaim, the articles are considered as abandoned and will be given to an institution.
19. The costumer acceptance of these General Conditions that are resumed and given with the deposit proof, means that the 5àsec shop may provide the cleaning/washing service, in-trusted to it.
